Metroid Prime Chozo Ice Temple

Posted by admin

Notes: Get as high as possible, on either side of the room. Suck in a bombu with your charge beam, and then jump on top of it when it is below one of the holes in the roof.

Finished Metroid Prime (for the first time) tonight. 100% items and 100% Log Book, so I got the'best' ending. A few miscellaneous thoughts, as usual. Contains spoilers.

Samus looks like an entirely different female with her helmet off, as compared to the eyesyou see through the visor all the time. So, does this mean that in Metroid Prime 2, you'll get to fight an Evil Phazon Samus? Blimey, thatsounds quite nasty.

Artifact

I still have unpleasant memories of Dark Link in the Water Temple. Metroid Prime (the creature) was much smaller than I'd have expected. So was the Impact Craterarea itself, actually. Why bother with the Lumigeks, for the sake of one tiny room in the whole game?

Just use Tallon Crabsagain. Just before going to return the Chozo Artifacts, I found that I had missed a creature in my Log Book(obviously, I would always have 4 empty slots at that point, but I in fact had 5). Turns out it wasthe Ice Shriekbat, which you can find in Phendrana Drifts - Ice Ruins East. 'Hyper Mode'?

Silly, silly name. Shoot Phazon to hurt a Phazon-dripping Phazon creature?

Hmm. The whole idea of shooting doors to unlock them, whilst primarily being traditional for Metroid games,is also a really great way to implement a game-world in which you can readily revisit all areas at anytime. Shooting a door, and moving into its immediate vicinity, prompts the game to load the next areainto memory. Far from making you feel boxed-in, it actually gives an impressive feeling of freedom. The Wavebuster is a really great weapon.

Shame it auto-locks-on to those poor, peaceful, defenseless Gliders!. Fungal Hall B, I hate you and your widely-spaced mushrooms. Power Bomb = instant death to regular baddies, including all Pirates (other than Elite, Phazon Elite and Omega)and all Metroids (other than Prime, of course). Particularly useful when fighting the Omega Pirate. I'd have to say that Metroid Prime is my favourite 'cube game so far - and that includes Mario Sunshine and thetoo-bloody-short Zelda.

Meta-Ridley was harder to kill than Metroid Prime. Which reminds me; the Plasma Beam is another great weapon. A bit ironic that the Space Pirates, who have long bred and experimented on Metroids, were drawn to Tallon IV dueto its mysterious radioactive emanations - which turned out to have come from a meteor containing Metroid Prime. They just can't seem to get away from Metroids. If the source of all Phazon is Metroid Prime, how come most Metroids (as indicated by the Space Pirates' computers)found Phazon fatal? Perhaps it's because Metroid Prime, as your Log Book says, is an 'abberation'. Can someone explain the whole 'Worm' thing? I assume that the Worm is in fact Metroid Prime, but it looks a damnsight more like a big spider, at least in its first incarnation.

I was expecting the last two creature-slots inmy Log Book to be the Worm, and then Metroid Prime - rather than both to be Metroid Prime, in its outer and coreforms. Judging from the stuff at gamefaqs.com, the US version of Metroid Prime has some very different Chozo Lore entriesthan the European one. I'm sure there was no mention of Samus as 'the Hatchling' in my game. Instead, she's theEntrusted One.

Oh, and why would the Chozo Ghosts suddenly start being helpful? They weren't very pleased to see me every othertime we met. Ah well.

I liked Samus' narrow escape in the end sequence. Reminds me of the similar Argo scene in Star Trek: Nemesis.

How to Get Wave Buster and FlamethrowerTo get the wave buster go to an area in Chozo Ruins called Sun Tower. Go up as far as you can, then shoot the pillars in the spot that has cracks. A cutscene will show it fall one step down. Jump up to the next area and keep doing this until you get it. The wave buster works very well against the space pirates and metroid prime.

For the flame thrower, go to the part of the Phazon Mines that has you turn off the force field. Go inside and look around for a red door behind a gate, then look for something behind a bendezium gate to unlock it. Get Art Gallery 2The Morph Ball bomb jump is a useful trick to get to a few of the hard-to-reach areas in metroid. Here's how to do it:In Morph Ball mode, line up the ball to where you want to jump upwards. Plant your first bomb and wait for the last fraction of a second before the bomb blows up and plant your second bomb. As you jump plant the third and final bomb at the highest point of your jump. Time it correctly and you should land on the second bomb just as it blows, making you jump again into the third bomb.

This one should blow as soon as you jump into it, giving you extra height. It takes a little practice but once mastered it can be useful especially in one of the tunnels in the Magmoor Caverns where mastering this trick can earn you an extra Energy Tank.

Beat Thardus (a.k.a.: The Rock) EasierIn the room where you fight Thardus, there are crevices in the rock embedded in certain walls. The crevices can be used to squeeze into so that instead of trying to outrun Thardus when he rolls into a ball, roll into Morph ball and hide in these crevices. Note that only some are deep enough for Samus's Morph ball to fit into. Now the ledges serve the same purpose, but another one as well. Jump onto these ledges, and Thardus can't freeze you because Thardus can only freeze things that are on the ground. Also note that only some of these ledges are high enough for to do this.Use Thermal visor to detect and target Thardus's weak points.

Metroid Prime Trilogy

A Super Missile on each one from the get-go and that should do the trick. Also, Don't use them just whenever because they take so many missiles just to do one. When Thardus pulls rock up from the ground, he moves his arms all the way down, then up. Your best bet is to fire a Super Missile right then every time. How to Beat Omega PirateTo beat him REALLY easily is simple.

Chozo Armor

First make sure you have full missiles and a decent sized missile stock (about 100) and full health (I had all but 2 spare energy tanks). Once you get into the room with the omega pirate (elite quarters), scan him while he is still in his tank. When he breaks free lock onto one of the plates on his knees or shoulders and shoot at it with the plasma beam. Keep doing this with each of the plates until they are all gone. He will fall over and call for help, then vanish. You can't see him with any visor.

Quickly dispatch the troopers that come down from the ceiling, then switch to your X-ray visor. You still can't see the pirate but you can see the pure phazon runing through his blood. Lock on and hit him with a super missile (power beam missile combo). This does MASSIVE damage to him. Keep doing this until he dies. Defeat Meta RidleyLocation: Warrior Shrine, Magmoor Caverns How to get: Use Power Bomb to blow through Bendezium cap on floor and enter secret cave.Location: Magma Pool, CHozo Ruins How to get: Use a Power Bomb to detonate Bendezium walll at back of room.Location: Security Cave, Phendrana Drifts How to get: Climb to the very top of Phendrana's Edge and enter the pipe.Location: Ice Ruins West, Phendrana Drifts How to get: Melt the ice on the building with the plasma beam and drop through the hole to get inside. Suit Abilities and LocationsVARIA SUIT: You can now enter magmoor caverns without being burned to death.LOCATION: You are awarded this suit after defeating Flaahgra.GRAVITY SUIT: You can now jump regularly under water.LOCATION: under water in the gravity chamber in a little indentation in the under water wall.PHAZON SUIT: You are now immune to certain types of Phazon.

This also comes equipped with the Phazon Beam which can only be used during the battle against 'METROID PRIME.' LOCATION: You are awarded this after defeating the Omega Pirate. How To Defeat SheagothFirst, go into the temple in Phandrana Drifts.

Go in and go to the top. Destroy the Chozo head( the one on the top right corner), with a missile. Go morph ball and plant a bomb in the hole. Then the door will open. Go in and defeat the baby Sheagoths.

After that, the big one will appear. Instead of shooting at him, go up close so he uses his ice breath. When he uses it, go back a little so it misses.

Then go up again and fire a missile. Do this repeatedly until he dies. (It took me about 13 times, so be sure you have a lot of missiles!) Then you get the Wave Beam.
