Are Skyrim Mods Compatible With Special Edition

Posted by admin

I know that certain mods from the original game are compatible with the special edition and, please correct me if I am wrong, I have heard that most mods that don't use any scripting will work in special edition but I am not sure what types of mods use scripting and which ones don't. The only ones that I know for sure don't use any scripting and will work in special edition are simple texture replaces but I don't know any others. So I would very much appreciate if you could let me know of any other categories (such as player homes, weapons, armor, followers, immersion etc.) where I might find mods that I can use in special edition. It would also be very helpful if you could let me let me know how I can tell which mods might be compatible and which ones won't.ThanksSorry if this is a stupid question. I'm not very experienced in modding.Edited by RYANMARCUS, 20 May 2017 - 06:34 AM. I use a lot of textures mods from Oldrim.

And if a mod, say SkyUI, has a pre extender version, it may work as well. Did I mention I'm a texture nut?textures are still hit and miss - i've had some render my game complletely broken. One was a simple lantern texture replacer. But most seem to work fine. The problem could be that issues related to using mods from oldrim may not crop up immediately in your game - so you might find out around level 10 that you have potentially game breaking issues. Just note the mods you use from oldrim and troubleshoot with those first if issues come up.Also - i use amidian and noble skyrim and a few cave and mine texture overhauls from oldrim and they work generally fine. I did run into an issue where i had black textured wood in mines and caves and that took some troubleshooting to fix. Deleting the texture folders for the objects in NMM fixed it.

The Word on the Street:It's been a fat minute, guys.I apologize for the lack of activity on my part, but I guess life had different plans.Since last month, I have picked up a second job. Unfortunately, this means that my free time has been cut into. I have made progress as far as the 2.6 update is concerned, but I cannot call it complete yet.

There's still work to be done. I will have to extend the deadline a bit into July. Not a whole month, though.Like I said, my apologies.

But I will still try to deliver as good of a 'product' as I can.Additionally, I wanted to thank you for all the comments. I have read some (not all), and while I haven't responded yet, I appreciate the support and I am using any applicable advice/reports/issues to help bring 2.6 to life. I'd also like to thank the peeps who have been helping others out, while I have been gone.Gonna try to get back into being active in the comments section soon.Edited by Juanton5oup, 28 June 2019 - 06:22 PM. Jsmirnoff wrote: Honestly, I like a lot of the mods on this list, but you have WAY too many things that ultimately overwrite each other. For instance, how many landscape overhauls do you really need? Or mods that change the same architecture sets? SRO is overwritten by Noble, which is overwritten by other things etc.

That's A LOT of time installing mods that ultimately don't really end up in your game.Hey, man. It's common to have multiple texture overhauls. They each cover what the others miss.

Many of the other authors did the same thing.
