I found it difficultto get along with some people who knewme from a Job that I worked with Kids.TheAcademy. There was alot of the kids in there whoknew me as a Counselor from there and who wantedto say things about me and start things. I wroteto one of the Lieutenants and asked to beremoved from the Pod and I was moved to anotherPod which was the Drug and Alcohol Pod.Marty: Not really.
Most of the inmates were polite andkind, the others did'nt start anything, but theyjust did not want to talk to anyone or bebothered.Linda: sometimesCharlie: getting along with other humans is totally up tothe individual.Mary: no I didn't find it difficult to get alongwith people at the jail. I am a peoplepersn and people like me.i didn't havea bad time. That's itMyron: I did my best to not make waves. Keptmyself around inmates like me whoattended church & the weekly AAmeetings as well as Bible study. Got akitchen job quick which kept mesurrounded with more trusted inmateswhich made it easier to get along.
Notwithout some arguments though frommostly stress.JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?Brian: To avoid problems and fights with other inmatesI stayed away from the ones who I know weretrouble and I talked to the guards on dutyabout ones who wanted to start things etc with me.I asked to move out of my cell when I had problemswith my cell mates who wanted to start fights etc.I played games on the Pod to avoid fights and Ihad others on the Pod look out after me for peoplewho wanted to fight or start fights. I avoidscenarios and people who want to get into fightsand argue as well.Marty: DON'T BE RUDE, DO NOT INSULT ANY INMATE NO MATTERHOW BAD THEY DESERVE IT YOU WILL GET BEAT UP, ANDJUST TREAT THEM AS REGULAR PEOPLELinda: keep to yourselfCharlie: internal red flags will tell an indivdual who /what to aviod.Mary: I had to stick to myseld. I had to keepin programs in the jail. I was in thehope program in the jail so it was aspiritual program. There were not alotfights on my pod.
Sometimes therewere arguments but nothing major. If Ihad to go back to jail I would requestthat pod aainMyron: Keep a routine down and read a lot onmy bunk. If I overheard drama, I went tothe hut! I chose not to perpetuate thecycle, I chose to get what help I could injail.
